Cricket is a game played with a bat and ball (we will use be using a beach cricket set with soft rubber balls to avoid injuries). There will be lots of running. Please bring a hat and water bottle.

Purpose TBD based on student ideas. In general, club members are dedicated to finding ways to preserve our natural resources and to make others aware of the need to conserve, recycle, and reuse. Students will address ideas appropriate to the ISM neighborhood and community.

The Middle / High School Community Service is a year around club, dedicated to improving the communities in and around Yangon. We are planning to visit and work with orphanages, local Burmese Schools, impoverished villages, and other organizations needing our support. We hope you will join us in our effort to Truly Make a Difference!

Many students have little or no chance to learn and practice English conversation skills outside of class or school. We will spend our time in group discussion learning and practicing such important conversation skills as making friends, giving and receiving advice, expressing disagreement and opinions, offering and asking for help, talking about our interests and hobbies, inviting and accepting/ declining invitations, making "small talk", solving problems, and answering questions at an interview ALL IN ENGLISH!!!

MLPISM is a social change organization that provides microloans (small loans 20,000 – 50,000 Kyats) to hardworking poor people in Myanmar so that they can lift their families out of poverty. So far MLPISM has created over 10,000,000 Kyats in the fight against poverty. We are actively seeking new members, especially MS & 9th graders.

The Global Issues Network is a coalition of students at international schools who study contemporary issues, perform community service, and share their experiences and knowledge with their peers – both through online forums and at a yearly conference. ISM's GIN is open to all students who want to make a difference. In Quarter 3, GIN will meet every Wednesday from 3:15 – 4:00. Students can join one or several of our six committees, working with a range of community service groups and other international schools in 2011-2012 to organize Adopt-a-Book Drives, Issues Awareness Campaigns, Clothes Drives, and Fundraisers for disadvantaged populations. The mission of the Global Issues Network is "to help students realize they can make a difference by empowering them to work internationally with their peers to develop solutions for global issues."

Prepares students for the IELTS by introducing them to the many types of question found on the Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing sections of the test.

The Club will form a band or bands to play rock songs. Bands will be made up of any of the following positions: guitar, bass, keyboards, drums and singers. A basic working knowledge of the instrument is necessary. We will prepare to give one or more performances to the ISM community or others.
