Introduction to Middle School

The International School of Myanmar's Middle School includes grades 6 through 8. Our enrollment consists of 234 students who represent a number of nationalities. Our talented and qualified teachers hail from around the world, and are supported by teaching assistants from Myanmar who all hold advanced certifications or degrees in education. ISM is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), an organization that recognizes and supports high standards in education.

We are committed to the task of preparing all students for success in English speaking universities in the future. We are also committed to promote good citizenship, by offering our students many opportunities to develop leadership skills, work collaboratively, and participate in community service.

Our sports program challenges students to improve team building skills, personal fitness, and good sportsmanship. ISM is recognized within the Yangon community as a leader in all aspects of education.

And last, but not least, our greatest resource in the Middle School is the students and their families. ISM students are eager to learn and always ready to help one another to succeed whether it is in the classroom, on the basketball court, or in the community. And their families are a vital part of our mission, always ready to join in and make every effort a positive and successful one.
