Welcome by the HS Principal
Welcome to the High School at the International School of Myanmar: Kyo So Par Tal!
We provide a quality international education to expatriate and permanent residents of Yangon, Myanmar. The school models a standards based, content curriculum that is student centered and intent on developing the whole child. We aim to supply our students with the necessary skills to become lifelong learners who value and respect not only themselves but the environment they inhabit. The High School at ISM uses a rigorous educational program that is U.S. based and we offer numerous AP courses which provide our students with a sturdy foundation for university and college entry around the world.
The teachers in the High School bring with them a wealth of international educational experience. This is augmented by a diverse range of home country experience which together, contributes to the array of instructional and pedagogical knowledge enriching the High School. Our teachers challenge the students of ISM to be critical thinkers who are globally aware, innovative and who have a heightened sense of leadership and responsibility, as well as being strong communicators and collaborators.
The High School prides itself on a vibrant extra-curricular programme that provides our students with vital opportunities to learn beyond the restrictions of traditional classroom walls. As well as an array of sporting activities we offer an incredibly successful Community Service Programme where students identify needs in the surrounding community and collaborate to provide tangible support. We also have a very successful Music and Performing Art programme that often performs in venues across Yangon.
The students of the High School are, of course, what make ISM such a rewarding place to work. They are focused on the joy of learning but also approach education with a smile and absolute exuberance. Indeed, in a career that has spanned posts in London, Bangkok, Beijing and now Yangon I have rarely encountered such fantastic kids.
So, if you have any questions or queries please arrange an appointment or even better drop in and visit us!
