Students at ISM experience leadership opportunities in various settings and learn about building relationships within teams and completing tasks effectively, and learn to display effective communication and interpersonal skills. All students should be capable of exercising leadership in different contexts. The more leadership is encouraged, the more it flourishes. The ISM Student Council is a year-long volunteer organization for Students from grades 2-12.
The Elementary School Student Council (ES STUCO) is a student leadership group made up of representatives from Grades 2 through 5. These students serve as the voice of their peers, helping to share ideas, raise concerns, and build a positive school community.
ES STUCO members take on a variety of roles and responsibilities throughout the year. These include:
Serving on the Student Council is both an honor and a responsibility. Members are expected to lead by example and demonstrate kindness, respect, and responsibility in all they do.

The Council’s primary goals are to act as a voice for student ideas and concerns, plan and facilitate community events and activities throughout the year, and fundraise money for a disabled care center in Yangon.
