The International School of Myanmar (ISM) is the largest International School in Myanmar. We offer an American education to approximately 925 students in grades Pre-K through Grade 12. Our students attend the top Universities and Colleges throughout the world. Staff at ISM come from all over the world and predominantly from North America. Staff is housed in ISM provided fully serviced and furnished apartments and transport is provided on school days between School housing and ISM. ISM seeks to recruit a highly qualified and diverse range of licensed teachers who can support the mission of ISM – to prepare students with the knowledge and skills, understandings and attitudes to become independent and socially responsible citizens who are successful in their future learning opportunities and in meeting the challenges of an ever-evolving world.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • At least three successful years in a full-time relevant experience in an international or US K-12 school.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and is highly collaborative.
  • A high degree of flexibility and adaptability.
  • Awareness and appreciation for multiple perspectives and is internationally minded.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • A growth mindset about teaching and learning with a desire for continuous growth and improvement.

All successful candidates must present government-issued background verification. The International School of Myanmar takes student safety very seriously and is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of its students.


ISM provides an annual airfare and houses all teachers in furnished serviced apartments within close proximity to the school. ISM also provides a shipping allowance and transportation to and from school. Utilities (up to 1000 units/month) and High-Speed internet are also covered by the school.

Yes. The school will provide assistance in acquiring a visa for your partner.

ISM provides tuition remission for up to two dependent children of full-time employees. All dependents must meet the entrance requirements

We have a very diverse group of teaching faculty on staff, familiarity with US-based curriculum is desired but not required.

ISM provides 10 consecutive maternity weeks and 7 paternity work days for employees at any time of their employment at the school.
