Here’s what some of our current faculty say about working at ISM and living in Yangon!
Working at ISM is a joy! The staff and administration are supportive, saying and doing all the right things to allow me to focus on my job of teaching music. The students are eager learners, full of fun and energy, while being very respectful. My husband and I enjoy exploring Yangon and learning about the various cultures here. We love the wide variety of food and love shopping for textiles and Myanmar artisan crafts. We enjoy walking and biking around our neighborhood and the city.

Teaching at ISM has been one of the most rewarding experiences as an international teacher. From the moment I was hired, I felt supported by an efficient, responsive and kind administrative team that assisted my husband and I throughout the entire transitioning process. Upon arrival to Yangon, I experienced a culturally rich and vibrant city. One can expect to interact with genuinely kind people who are eager to make you feel welcomed. At ISM, I’ve had the opportunity to foster meaningful relationships with colleagues, parents, students and local staff; it’s a place where I feel a strong sense of belonging and community.

Founded by a native education pioneer, ISM’s unique history sets it apart from other international schools. The impressive diversity of teachers and support staff is a testament to the commitment of a global-minded leadership. For students, ISM offers a challenging curriculum led by a dedicated team of professionals. As a new teacher, my transition into ISM has been seamless, thanks to a collegial, supportive community and joyful students. Endowed with a rich history and gracious citizens, Yangon is South East Asia’s hidden gem. My time here will be well spent indeed.
